Justin Bieber still traveling in fast company

American rapper Bryan Williams, known by his stage name Birdman, must have great car insurance – he reportedly loaned his Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, worth over two million dollars, to Justin Bieber, the Canadian poster boy for bad judgment. In fact, Birdman told Bieber that he’s welcome to drive the car whenever he’s in Miami.
Birdman, the co-founder of Cash Money Records, allowed the 20 year-old bad boy drive his exotic supercar after they had collaborated on a new music project. Interesting note – Bieber was arrested in the same city for suspicion of a DUI just three months ago. Bieber’s due back in court May 5. There’s talk a plea deal may be in the works.
As a teenager, Bieber, now 20, already owned his own stable of exotic cars, including a Fisker Karma, a Ferrari 458 Italia and a Ferrari F430. I’m sure his teen insurance coverage must have cost a small fortune – but when you’re worth $150 million, money’s probably not an issue.

Why exotic cars are expensive to insure

  • Very high performance means extremely high speeds
  • Requires much higher level of driving skill than with a regular car
  • Ultra costly to repair or replace

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse at a glance:

  • Estimated base price: $2,250,000
  • Engine type: quad-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 64-valve W-16, aluminum block and heads, port fuel injection
  • Displacement: 488 cu in, 7993 cc
  • Power: 1200 hp @ 6400 rpm
  • Transmission: 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with manual shifting mode
  • Curb weight: 4400 lb
  • Performance (C/D EST):
    • Zero to 60 mph: 2.4 sec
    • Zero to 100 mph: 5.0 sec
    • Standing ¼-mile: 10.0 sec
    • Top speed: 255 mph
  • Fuel Economy (C/D EST): EPA city/highway driving: 8/15 mpg

Do you think if Bieber had an accident or totaled the Bugatti, his auto insurance would cover it? He’s probably not worried – it would be a drop in the bucket to his cash flow.

While owning a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse may be out of reach for most of us, finding affordable car insurance is not.  Ask for a quote now and see how much you can save.
